Woman Who Drowned Her Children 'Cries For Them' Every Christmas

In 1994, Susan Smith made headlines for letting her two young sons drown in a car that she let roll into a lake.
Now, Smith is serving life without parole at Leath Correctional Institution in Greenwood, SC.
A source who has known Smith for years says the holidays are particularly difficult for her.
The holidays fill her with guilt and regret. She cries for her children every Christmas. She knows she did the most horrible thing imaginable, and it tears her up every day. She's a tortured soul.
Now 48, Smith is said to work as a wardkeeper assistant and to keep mostly to herself.
She has only one solace: a Bible in her cell with a photo of the sons she killed.
Smith originally claimed a black man had carjacked her and kidnapped the boys.
After nine days, she admitted her crime. Her motive? According to Newser, she says a man she was dating didn't want kids.
