Ex-cop Guyger sentenced to 10 years in prison

PROTESTER SOT: “If a white woman got killed by a black person, they would’ve got life!” Protesters erupted with anger in the halls of a Dallas court… after a jury sentenced former police officer Amber Guyger to ten years in prison. Prosecutors had asked the jury to hand Guyger a 28-year sentence… much steeper than what was ultimately decided. The sentence comes a day after Guyger was found guilty of murdering her neighbor, 26-year-old Botham Jean, as he ate ice cream in his apartment. During the trial, prosecutors presented several of Guyger's text messages - and a Pinterest post - that painted her as racist. That hit a nerve with activists, who were unforgiving outside of the courtroom. Inside - Jean’s younger brother Brandt offered Guyger his forgiveness.
